 Historic Mtae Walk

The walk will take you along the cliffs to the site of the last home of the King of the Wasambaa people. The rain maker chief was the last of the Kilindi dynasty, ruling this part of the Usambaras until 1962 when Tanzania gained political independence. Learn about the local folklore from the elders who have lived their lives in and around Mtii village. On the way back visit the Mtae woodcarver and admire his carvings.
